ADMIT ONE by Andrea Alchieri

“ADMIT ONE” was born with the main focus of paying homage to the minimal dress that decomposes and recomposes giving life to deconstructed shapes and volumes adapted. Focusing on the traditions of circus nomadic peoples, the collection draws inspiration from the anti-conformist gypsy lifestyle and the American street theatre movement of the 1990s. ” “Circus” as an inclusive place, where the clown, in its androgynous and asexual dimension, becomes an expression of a possible equality: her gaze un-masks a modernity, and it is no longer beauty, race, gender or age that matter, but technique and audacity. It will create a story immersed in dream and reality, in an upside-down universe, as a metaphor of a world overturned by negativity, tragedy, persecution and prejudice. The collection wants to remind us that beauty is only a matter of perception and points of view and that the sum of the different angles gives an image extraneous to reality, grotesque but at the same time amusing. From this Strike Beauty emerges another “I”, freed from fears of self-acceptance, capable of self-irony in sharp contrast to the etiquette of a social system that tends towards the homologation of the personality.
